Tired…tired n tired! This whole week, I have been working OT until 8pm. I totally could not take it that everyday like either go to work or go home to sleep. I hardly have the energy to watch tv shows. Plus, the new project was to be done finished within 4 months. Actually, the whole project is quite easy to do but we need to us OCR, which is a slow software, to do the processing. It was so slow that we have to let the computer run 24/7 from Friday to tomorrow. Let’s pray that the process will be finished when I come tomorrow.

Today, my mother and I went to Somerset. We had wanted to go early but it was raining. After that, we went to ION Orchard which was just recently opened. The shopping centre was quite nice and big that we hardly can find the way through inside the shopping centre.

♥ My 22th birthday

Last Sunday, my family celebrated my 22th birthday in advance. Just like before, they bought a cake only. On Friday, it was my birthday. I felt a little bit sad because none of my friends remember my birthday as no one called or sms me to wish me. Only my cousin remembered me.

As for my work, I have been working OT for the past few days. My company was rushing a project and expected it to be done within a few months. It was a new project and it was easy to me except that it takes quite a long time to complete the whole process. It looks like these few weeks, I will be working OT. Also, I find it strange that, I was so tired for the past few days but I will automatically woke up in the midnight and I cannot get into sleep anymore.

♥ Malacca trip 2009
posted by yukiong on Sunday, 16 August 2009 at 11:17 pm.
Last Saturday, my colleagues and I went to Malacca. It has been long time since I need to wake up so early. I woke up at 5 and went to meet my colleagues at the MRT control station before we went together to the bus pick-up point. This was the first time I went on a trip on my own without my family. Naturally, I felt so uncomfortable and nervous and so my trip to Malacca begins here.

First day

As there was a jam, so we reached the custom a little bit late. After we cleared the immigrant checkpoint, we went to a small village to have our breakfast. At that time, it was almost going to 12. We had nasi lemak and their local food there…I forgot what the local food called. After that, we went to see how the potato is being planted, how the fertilizer is made and after that what the fertilizer is used for. It was quite boring for me as I had no interest in those types of things.
After that, we went to see how the noodles were made in a factory. It was quite interesting to know that the workers actually sit on the pole and then stand up to make the noodles. But of course, it will be quite tired.

Next, we went to Rong Cheng Restaurant to have our lunch. And this was where I hate to go to. It was because I did not know how to get the food myself and I will feel embarrassed. I hate to let people see the weakness side of me. Luckily, my four China colleagues took turns to get the food for me.

After lunch, we went to Yo Yo to buy the local products. I bought some tibits, cuttlefish and others. I felt a little bit stupid because I did not know what to buy. Not long after, we went to a farm to have our afternoon tea.

After that, we went to Malacca and reached the hotel around 4.30pm. There were 6 of us and so we 2 persons shared one room. We were asked to put in our bags and rested for a while before we went to have our dinner.

As we were on the bus to have our dinner, the tour guide told us quite many interesting stuffs like “Why there will always be a massive jam in Malacca?”, “How the trishaw pullers react when they see people are being robbed?” and etc. As for our dinner, we ate the nyona dishes at the Nyona Restaurant. The food was quite nice except that they were a little bit spicy.

After dinner, we went to walk around Dunkern Street. We went to 三叔公 to buy tibits. And then, we have our own time to shop around the market. After that, we went back to hotel and rest. I had wanted to play poker card with my colleagues but they were too tired. So, I could only play with my male colleagues, Elton. At around 12.30, I went to sleep.

Second day

I woke up at 8 and went to have our breakfast. After that, we packed our things and checked out the hotel. Then we went to see the Nyona Museum. At the Nyona Museum there, the spokesperson told us how the Nyona family came about, what their culture are for marriage and the tools they used for eating. This was where I find the trip most interesting part. After that, we walked across the street to shop around.

After that, we had our free time to shop around the Shopping Mall. For us, as my colleagues wanted to eat famous chicken rice, so we asked the tour guide to take us to the place. Elton went to queue and we went to三叔公 to drink the coffee. As the queue was so long, so we decided not to eat and we went to shop. After shopping for 1 hour, it was time for us to go home.
As it was national day, so we took our pledge on the bus. And so we reached Singapore at 9.30 pm.

Overall, I think that this trip is meaningful as I learnt many new things. But one thing I do not like is that the four China girls kept taking care of us and worried about us and asking us to follow them. I hear that the boss asked them to take care of us. I hope that next time, I will be able to go to another place.

This whole, I have been worrying about not getting the passport on time. Then if that happens, I will not be able to go to Malacca. Luckily, I have received the letter on Thursday that I could collect my passport. So yesterday, I went with my father to collect the passport. Anyway, yesterday, I was also no need to go to work because of the renovation. After that, I went with my mother to Outram Park. I bought a Bermuda and a wax. As for today, I went with my mother to Queensway shopping Centre to buy a jeans and a pair of new shoes.
