Yesterday, I had two interviews to go. In the morning, my father and I went to the Biz-link centre as I am not familiar with the place. It is located at Bedok in which this was the first time I was going there. It is a government company which helps those handicapped people to find jobs. As we were going to the centre, we saw a few disabled people walking around. Some of them were working at there. So when we reached the centre, I told the receptionist that I was looking for someone. So she asked me to wait at there while she called the person. Then the admin asked me to fill up the particular form and asked me to wait for the person to call me to go in for the interview. Soon, the person asked me and my father to go in for the interview. There were four persons which includes one social worker, one job placement officer and two medical doctors. At that time, I was really afraid because I need to face 4 unfamiliar faces at the same time. So they started to interview me and asked me about my medical condition and how they can help me. I showed them my medical certificate and my diploma cert. They asked me about the jobs that I was looking for and if the salary is low, would I mind. The medical doctors also asked me to show them my hands and do some hand exercise. They also said that there would be a meeting in Thursday to discuss about my medical condition and they would try to help me to find a job. Soon the interview was over and the medical doctors told me that I may need to come back for some medical check up next week. And so we went home. Personally, I would not mind working at a place where others may treat me as a handicapped person or where the company hires handicapped people. As long as there is a job in which I can do, I am satisfied and I would not mind the salary although somehow it may affect my emotions. At least I feel satisfied and there would lesser stress working at there. |
