Yesterday, I went to the Deltalians chalet whereby all the Deltalians for my year and teachers and the principal gathered together to know each other's current situation. At first, I thought that there would be a mass gathering at Pasir Ris Mrt first, and then we went to the chalet. But to my surprise, there were only a few people at there. I was the first one to reach there as I was earlier and found that there was no one waiting at there. So I went to walk around the shopping centre for a while. Then when I went back to the Mrt Station, there was still no sign of familiar faces. After a while, Juisin waved to me and he said that there would be people coming but he did not know the number of people. So while waiting, we stood at a corner and chatted a little bit. Soon, three familiar girls went up to said hi. As I was not close to them, so I was very quiet. Then our chairman, Siti, came and the six of us went to take bus and reached the Pasir Ris Park. Although I have been to many chalets before, this was the first time that I went here. So we walked a little bit distance before we reached the place. When we reached there, there were only 4 persons at the house and most of them I never talk to them before. So I only sat at one corner and stared, did not know how to react. As it was getting late, we wanted to start the barbeque but they forgot to buy the fire starter, so we had to wait for others to buy. Soon they got the fire starter; we started to barbeque but not me la. And then more and more people came and the place started to have noise. There were about 40++ people. There were many teachers, my classmates and other friends and the principal. People started to chat with their classmates, teachers and they were happily laughing. At the same time, they were taking food and eat. As my hands were not so agile, so I only ate some. I have not seen them for quite a long time since the secondary school and some of their faces like not changed so much. As I was not getting used to this kind of gathering, I did not know how to entertain or what. I felt like I was the only odd one that was in the chalet like a statue. I did chatted with some of my friends and teachers and knew that some of them are in army now, some are working, some are still studying and some are preparing to go for further studies. Some of my friends actually have their own already. I was so envious of them. For the teachers, since the close down of the Delta Sec School, teachers went separated. Some of them followed us to the Bukit Merah Sec School, others went to other schools to teach and some retired. Too bad, some of my classmates did not come and my two form teachers who took great care for me did not come. And we did not took any pictures. As I did not intend to stay over, so I left soon with my two malay classmates and said bye to them. |
